Since being called to the Bar in 2001, Brett has focussed exclusively on insurance law and litigation. Brett has successfully conducted trials on behalf of his clients and has appeared at all levels of court across Canada. Brett's practice centers on first party coverage issues (including defence of bad faith claims, fraud, property and fidelity coverage issues) and third party defences pursuant to property and casualty policies. Brett also has vast experience in subrogated property claims on behalf of most major insurers in Canada and the United States.

Brett joined Genest Murray LLP in 2009.
